Alcohol Around Family, Work or Social Events
Question
My family or workplace has alcohol around me. What should I do?
Short answer
Do not consume intoxicants, and take direct participation in their sale seriously. At the same time, do not treat every place where alcohol is present as the exact same fiqh situation.

- The Qur’an prohibits intoxicants, and authentic Sunnah prohibits their sale as well as consumption.
- A family dinner where another person drinks, a job selling alcohol, and a roommate storing alcohol are different factual situations.
